Morgan Freeman says despite his illustrious film career, he “could never have hoped” to portray Nelson Mandela in a movie.

The Oscar-winning American actor has appeared in a host of box office hits including The Shawshank Redemption, Million Dollar Baby and Se7en.

Morgan played Nelson Mandela in 2009 film Invictus alongside Matt Damon. The biographical sports drama followed the former South African president's appearance at the 1995 Rugby World Cup.

Morgan says despite playing a number of characters throughout his film career, he was intimidated to be taking on such an iconic part in the picture.

"I've played a general, the head of the CIA, a chauffeur, a detective and the president. I'm not any of those things. I guess I could have been. But I could never have hoped to be [Mandela],” he mused at a Mandela Day celebration at the Four Seasons restaurant.

Morgan started his career in the PBS kids’ show The Electric Company. The 74-year-old star still ponders over how he managed to score such legendary film roles following his humble acting beginnings.

"How did a man who played Vincent the Vegetable Vampire on The Electric Company come to be honouring [Mandela]?" he told the New York Post.

The Pussy Cat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger is now engaged to his four year boyfriend, Formula one star Lewis Hamilton, this according to Nicole's dad Alfonso Valiente who confirmed the rumors is definitely true.

“You know about the proposal? Yes they are engaged,” he told British newspaper The Mail on Sunday. “My future son-in-law is a really nice guy, really down-to-earth. My family all like him. The good spirit is there.”

Alfonso and Nicole’s mother Rosemary split when she was just a baby, but she’s close to both her parents.

Her father was introduced to Lewis last year when the couple came to holiday when him in Hawaii, where he lives. Nicole was born there and Lewis impressed the whole family because he made such an effort with them.

“When he walked into the house for the first time he picked up one of the babies. That went down very well,” Alfonso laughed.

“He is sincere and he and my daughter seem genuinely happy together. Lewis is a really good guy. When they came to visit, we hired them a Jeep because he had never driven one before.’

Nicole’s spokesperson has insisted the engagement speculation is unfounded.

It’s been a good year for the 33-year-old star. Her solo career has gone from strength to strength and she’s currently working as a judge on the American version of talent television show The X Factor.

Viloria got off to a good start by dropping Miranda in round one with a body shot but Miranda came back over the second half of the fight. Unfortunately more judging problems as the officials apparently lost two rounds of the twelve round bout. Scores were announced as 98-91, 96-93, 97-93.

After long years of serving HBO Sports, one of the best sports channel on the world, Ross Greenburg decided not renew his contract as the president of the said station. Regarded as the most powerful person in the boxing business, he resigned from the network under pressure Sunday despite having several months remaining on his multi-million dollar contract.

"We believe that Ross' track record speaks for itself," HBO co-presidents Richard Plepler and Michael Lombardo said in a joint statement given to ESPN.com, confirming his departure, which has been in the works for months. "He has helped redefine the sports programming genre and set an extraordinary standard of excellence in the industry. We will miss his leadership, vision, creativity and passion for sports television."

No replacement was announced, although Lombardo, who has been directly involved in some of the network's recent boxing decisions, is likely to oversee the department temporarily until a permanent replacement is hired.

The bout serves as tune-up fight for the Mexican fighter for his anticipated trilogy with WBO Welterweight champion from the Philippines.

After the fight, Marquez verbalized that he is ready for Pacquiao in November and wished that this fight with Ramos would have lasted a little longer." I wanted this fight to prepare for Pacquiao, I was hoping it would have lasted longer but sometimes that's how it goes." said Marquez in the post-fight interview which was streamed live and free by Top Rank Boxing in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. It was one of the most exciting match-up in the 20011 FIFA Women's World Cup, the quarter finals battle between the two power house team of the league, USA vs Brazil. It was a redemption for the USA team when they took the victory over the Brazil, as the game entered a 2-2 draw last Sunday, but the he penalty shoot out made the USA team way on their road to the semi-finals, 5-3.

The victory was redemption for the entire team but perhaps none more so than goalie Hope Solo.

In 2007, Solo was the United States goalkeeper, at least until she was pulled from the lineup heading into the semifinals against Brazil. The US lost 4-0 and Solo let loose an outburst that made her persona non grata among her teammates and many soccer fans.

After the released of her last installment of the career defining movies: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, the celeberity star Emma Watson's career won't be slowing down as what is expected by some people around her, but according to the reports the young Hollywood actress has at least two movies in the works.

The first is My Week with Marilyn, the film adaptation of multiple books by and personal accounts of filmmaker Colin Clark regarding his relationship with Marilyn Monroe (Clark served as assistant director on The Prince and the Showgirl). In a small role, Watson will join an ensemble cast that features Michelle Williams as Monroe, as well as the likes of Julia Ormond, Kenneth Branagh and Judi Dench. Simon Curtis (The Practice, David Copperfield) is directing the film, which is set to land in theaters Nov. 4.

The other known project of Watson's is the movie version of Stephen Chbosky's young-adult novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Watson will play the female lead, Samantha, the step-sister of protagonist Charlie, played by Logan Lerman. Paul Rudd, Kate Walsh and Dylan McDermott will also appear.

With the crowd on its feet the entire fight chanting loudly for their favorite fighter, both Rios and Antillon came out swinging in a toe-to-toe battle. Rios knocked Antillon down with a devastating left hook for the first of two knockdowns at the start of the third round. It was a shot Antillon would never recover from. Moments later he added an overhand right hand that that sent him to the floor face first. The end came when referee David Mendoza waved if off after Antillon stumbled toward his corner at 2:49 in the third round.

Hollywood Star Taylor Swift postpones concert

Hollywood singing sensation Taylor Swift announced that her two major concerts in Atlanta and Charlotte has been postponed due to illness. The said concerts was scheduled this weekend but due to unexpected turn of events it was moved to October 1 and November 16 respectively.

The young celebrity singer has been diagnosed with a bronchitis in which her doctor advised her not to perform and instead rest for a while due with such illness.

The 21-year-old songstress has found something to pass the time while she's sick, though. "Yeah, there are all sorts of fun things to do while sick and on vocal rest," she tweeted on Thursday. "Like sitting here, popping bubble wrap by myself. #wishiwasontour."

Pacquiao agrees to random testing

Pound for Pound King Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao has agreed to do a unlimited random testing for the proposed fight against archrival Floyd " Money" Mayweather, but the random testing must be handled by a neutral governing bodies not by the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). This has been confirmed by Top Rank honcho Bob Arum in an interview from a sports organization.

Arum said the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), the body Mayweather wants to handle the tests, is not a neutral organization and that there are other groups that can “handle the test under the supervision of the athletic commission respective of the state where the fight is going to be held.”

The fight between the two boxing bests have fall into nothing when both parties have failed to agree the said issue that resulted to the down fall of the mega fight that most of the people awaits.
