Viloria drops Miranda on the 1st round of their WBO flyweight match |
Former IBF and WBC light flyweight world champion
Brian "The Hawaiian Punch" Viloria (29-3, 16 KOs) added another championship belt to his up and down career as he defeated and dethroned former WBO flyweight J
ulio Cesar "Pingo" Miranda (35-6-1, 28 KOs) of Mexico via a twelve round unanimous decision last Saturday night at the front of his countrymen at the
Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Viloria got off to a good start by dropping Miranda in round one with a body shot but Miranda came back over the second half of the fight. Unfortunately more judging problems as the officials apparently lost two rounds of the twelve round bout. Scores were announced as 98-91, 96-93, 97-93.
